Terms of Service
Effective October 6, 2026
SelfieSign ("we", "us") is an online service for preparing documents, sending them for signature and signing them electronically, including signing with selfie video evidence. These terms apply whenever you create an account, send a document or sign a document you were sent. By using SelfieSign you agree to them.
Using SelfieSign
You may use SelfieSign if you can enter into a binding contract where you live. If you use it for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
You do not need an account to sign a document you were sent. When you open a signing link, these terms apply to your use of the signing page.
Your account
Give us accurate details, including your real name and an email address you control. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
You can add a passkey and turn on two-step sign-in in Settings. We recommend both.
Workspaces
A workspace lets a team share documents, templates, branding and tokens. Workspace admins decide who joins, what each member can do, the default signing settings and, where offered, which certificate signs the workspace documents.
Documents created inside a workspace belong to that workspace, and its admins can see and manage them. If you leave a workspace, its documents stay with it.
Electronic signatures and evidence
Each completed document carries a digital signature (PAdES) that shows if the file has been changed afterwards, together with an audit trail recording who took part, what they did, when, and from which IP address.
When a sender asks for it, signers record a short selfie video while they sign. The video is stored encrypted and kept with the document as evidence of who signed.
You are responsible for deciding whether an electronic signature is suitable for your document and is valid where it will be used. Some documents, such as certain wills, property transfers and court or notarised papers, may need a different form of signature.
Your content
You keep ownership of the documents, signatures and other content you upload. You allow us to store, process, display and send that content only as needed to provide SelfieSign to you, including delivering it to the people you choose.
You confirm that you have the right to upload each document and to ask the recipients to sign it.
Acceptable use
You must not use SelfieSign to:
- send documents that are unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, or send unwanted messages to people;
- pretend to be someone else, or sign for another person without their authority;
- upload malware or content that infringes the rights of others;
- get around security, usage limits or access controls, or reach data that is not yours;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it.
AI features
Optional features use Google Gemini to draft documents and suggest where signature fields should go. Only the content of documents you use these features on is sent to Google. AI suggestions can be wrong, so check every document before you send it.
Tokens and payment
Sending documents uses tokens, which you buy in advance at the price shown before you pay. Tokens do not expire. Workspace tokens belong to the workspace.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Unless the law requires otherwise, purchased tokens are not refundable.
Closing an account
You can close your account at any time in Settings, under Data & Privacy. Nothing is deleted for 30 days, and signing in again during that time cancels the request. After 30 days your personal content is deleted. Records we must keep, such as the audit trails of documents other people signed and purchase records, are kept with your details removed.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to download your data.
Disclaimers and liability
We work to keep SelfieSign available and secure, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or data, arising from your use of SelfieSign.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer.
Changes to the service and these terms
We improve SelfieSign over time, and features may change or be retired.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using SelfieSign after that date, the new terms apply.
